Family Day Care Services, a charitable organization founded in 1851, is dedicated to the care and education of children. Their goal is to help every child be happy, secure and develop to his or her true potential. To meet this goal they offer families safe, nurturing education and child care opportunities that reflect their values and concerns. Today, Family Day offers licensed home and centre-based child care to over 4,000 children (infants to 12 years of age) in the Greater Toronto Area and is the lead agency for Ontario Early Years Centres in the provincial ridings of Don Valley East, Markham, Mississauga Centre, Scarborough Centre and Thornhill.

Family Day’s professional trainers provide ongoing support in curriculum development to staff and caregivers.All Family Day programs meet or exceed the provincial government’s licensing requirements.Family Day partners with individuals who are interested in developing their own home-based child care business. They are licensed by the Ontario Ministry of Children and Youth Services to administer the operation of home child care programs in accordance with the Day Nurseries Act.Family Day recognizes the importance of the family and the community in child development.
