White House Children’s Nurseries

The White House Nursery was first opened in 1987 and was the first nursery of its kind in Derbyshire. Since those early days the nursery has expanded and developed to meet the needs of todays parents and their children. Their aims at the White House are to provide a secure, loving, caring environment in which all children have the opportunities to reach their full potential emotionally, socially and educationally through hands on experiences and having FUN. Their day nursery is located at 116 Nottingham Road, Spondon and their nursery school is located at 63-65 Nottingham Road, Spondon, almost opposite each other. The White House Childrens Nurseries, as a company, endeavours to meet the individual requirements of each and every familys needs.

The transfer of children from unit to unit or Day Nursery to Nursery School is made as smoothly as possible by excellent communication and gradual introduction to their new environment. We have continual assessment of each childs progression in the form of oral and written records. The day nursery is an Edwardian building which has been extended to form purpose designed accommodation for children 0-3 years. There are many large rooms, a lovely garden, a secure roof top area for the younger children and a playground. A large indoor play area is also available which is equipped with stimulating apparatus. This allows the children to enjoy play whatever the weather. Throughout the day the children are offered a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities. The emphasis is on creating a homely but stimulating environment for these very young children.
