Durham Daycare

January 30th, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in 123 Triad, Child Care, Daycare, Learning Center

Durham Daycare has been around since 2002. June, mother of four children had a home daycare that was costing far to much to advertise in local paper. Grocery store ads would go missing before I finished shopping! Computer experience allowed her to come up with a Durham dedicated website where providers would pay a lesser fee that would assure ads in local paper, trade show presence, google sponsored ads and flyer distribution. Well they have come along way with well over 2000 providers who have advertised and over 200 unique visits a day to our site. We sponsor CPR and First Aid Training. Have a popular CD for Getting started in Childcare and Seminars they put on for bringing those new or experienced providers together, for fresh ideas and quickstart guidelines for your home childcare business.

Their goal to provide challenging experiences appropriate to the developmental needs of each child. In addition to providing stimulating experiences for children, we also believe that learning can be fun. Through positive reinforcement, encouragement and a warm and loving environment, our qualified staff encourages the children to develop self-esteem, pride, respect and an understanding of themselves and others. HHDC also offers a unique component (WINGS of DISCOVERY) that incorporates science into our daily activities. Our centres work in conjunction with area high schools and colleges by allowing students to participate in our program while obtaining credits through cooperative education.

Through play children will learn cognitive, language, physical and social skills. Children go through different stages of development. She believe it is important to look at the stage and to plan developmentally appropriate activities. When dealing with behaviors she believe you need to look at what the function of the behavior is and set an appropriate consequence for the behavior. It is very important to be consistent and to follow through.

Positive reinforcement is an effective tool in guiding children through their play. Giving positive reinforcers will guide children in learning the appropriate skills and behaviors. Her program is based on teacher and child oriented activities and themes. Each week a new theme is chosen either by observation of the childrens interest or teacher directed theme. Every week the theme will include activities that enhance and develop the childrens knowledge in letters, numbers, shapes and colors.

All Abroad Daycare

All Aboard Daycare is a high quality home daycare, licensed with the State of Texas. All Aboard Daycare reaches beyond an ordinary child care experience to provide a fun, enriching program in a Christian child-oriented environment. All Aboard Daycare is a family daycare, which means the program takes place in my home. Two rooms of my home are dedicated exclusively to daycare, set up specifically with children in mind. Your child will have all the comforts of home and all the advantages of a high-quality center in one place!”Every child should have mud pies, grasshoppers…trees to climb. Brooks to wade, water lilies, woodchucks, bats, bees, butterflies, various animals to pet, hayfields, pine-cones, rocks to roll, sand, snakes, huckleberries and hornets; and any child who has been deprived of these has been deprived of the best part of…education.”

The following are theoretical principles of child development and learning that are critical in developmentally appropriate practice (DAP). These principles are based on the work of Piaget, Vygotsky, Erikson, and others. These theoretical principles are the foundation of the program at All Aboard Daycare.Children learn best when their physical needs are met and they feel psychologically safe and secure.DAP respects children’s biological needs. For example, children are not made to sit and attend to paperwork or listen to adult lectures for long periods of time.

The Doggie Den

January 28th, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in 123 Triad, Child Care, Daycare, Learning Center

The Doggie Den opened its doors in September, 1998 in a small colonial cottage situated in downtown Northboro, MA. Between their growing Daycare and Grooming businesses, we found our cottage quickly bursting at the seams, and in November, 2000 they moved into a state-of-the-art 2400 sq. ft. facility a couple of hundred yards from the house. Their facility was designed specifically for doggie daycare by The Doggie Den owner, Susan LaDue, and was built by Northboro Commons, during the summer of 2000.They ‘re in the dog business becausethey love it. Susan was successful in more than one career before starting The Doggie Den, but dogs have always been her first love. Except for in The Grooming Salon, their doggie guests are always free to play, nap, chew, and observe their puppy pals. There are lots of beds, toys, chews, and open crates in the play areas.

It’s more work this way, since they don’t crate dogs involuntarily, but that’s the point! It’s the work that they love. Part of everyone’s job at The Doggie Den is playing with the dogs. We hang out with them - sometimes under piles of them - on the play area couches. The Doggie Den, they ‘re committed to enhancing the quality of your relationship with your dog. Exhausted when you come home from work? And your dog wants to play, play, play? Then doggie daycare was invented for you! At The Doggie Den, we make sure your dog gets a practiced balance of exercise, socialization, relaxation and enthusiastic cuddles. Their Dog Care Assistants will supervise your pup at all times.
