Cobnuts Kindergarten

May 9th, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in 123 Triad

Cobnuts Kindergarten provides rich opportunities for the personal growth and enjoyment of young children through structured and creative play, enabling each child to develop the abilities and confidence needed for life.Steiner Education respects the essential nature of childhood, and their teachers find creative and attractive ways to bring nature into the classroom through craft with natural materials and homely activities such as bread-making and baking. Each day the children of Cobnuts will experience the sights and sounds of the natural environment in their garden - the sounds of birds calling, the smell of freshly dug earth or the touch of stone, wood, and soil under their nails.

These experiences encourage the child to be aware of their natural surroundings and nurture respect for nature, the living earth and its creatures. When children find love and respect for the world around them they will have love and respect to give. They also run a Cobnuts toddler group for younger children and their parents. They believe that children should have the opportunity to interact with other children in a warm environment. Sessions begin with free play with toys made from natural materials. A craft activity is always offered. Children are encouraged to help with the preparation of the snack, and help to tidy up before snack time. Circle time and play in the garden ends the session.

Springles

May 9th, 2009 | Comments Off | Posted in 123 Triad

At Springles their primary aim is to ensure the happiness, well-being and development of the children in their care. They have created an environment where each childs individual physical, emotional and mental needs are recognised and respected and where he or she can feel safe, loved and encouraged to develop to their full potential. As they believe that young children learn best through play, they plan activities that are both educational and enjoyable. Although they closely follow the national curriculum, and aim to give the children entrusted to them a clear advantage by the time they start school, this does not prevent them from having fun. By skilfully mixing education and enjoyment into each activity they can lay a firm foundation for a life-long love of learning. Also important to us are the relationships that they develop with parents and guardians.

Its not easy to leave a child in a nursery and they aim to ensure that parents share in their children’s triumphs, successes and milestones whilst in their care. They appreciate the support that they receive from parents and are happy to put the knowledge and experience of their professionally trained staff at their disposal as their children go through their natural stages of development. The Nursery class is for children of about 3 years old, until they leave for school. Their objective is to give children a happy and positive foundation to their future school life. The curriculum is broad-based and child-centred. Subjects are integrated throughout, with several activities typically taking place within the rooms at any time.
